Help families affected by Covid-19

Due to COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdown, many of our beneficiaries’ families have seen their minimal income reduced or are not earning an income at all because they cannot leave their homes.

Over 40% of our children are raised by grandmothers and the rest by single mothers who are either unemployed or work in the informal sector which is negatively impacted by COVID-19. Our children either rely on:

  • meals provided at school (one meal at 10am covers breakfast and lunch) and

  • a snack when they attend our Afterschool Programme, which is dinner for some.

We seek support to distribute food and emergency kits to our 500 beneficiaries’ families. Each emergency kit includes:

  • Meal packs comprising dry foods with added vitamin enrichment, samp, sugar beans, mealie meal, tinned fish, peanut butter, cooking oil, sugar, teabags, flour, yeast, etc.

  • Hygiene products -  soap and masks

  • Electricity vouchers

  • Internet data for learners to attend Lesson Tutorial via Zoom as well as access our learning platform from home

  • Seeds for starting home vegetable gardens

With your assistance - we hope to support 500 families

  • (R1500) $100 per family (average 8 members per month).

  • (R1000) $65 – Internet data for Grade 11s and Matric learner to attend online classes for a full month

There is no amount big or small – kindly donate what you can!
